FAO Questions?
For further information on freesat , please
see below or ring our helpful staff on
02866327293.
Can I use my existing TV?
Yes – you don’t have to buy
a new one, even if your current TV is
not digital.
Do I have to subscribe to Sky
Digital to get freesat?
No you don’t.
Do I have to switch to digital
TV?
Not yet. But the government is talking
about ‘switching off’ the
analogue signal by approximately 2012.
However, the sooner you go digital, the
sooner you’ll be able to enjoy all
the benefits of all the digital TV and
radio channels available on the digital
satellite platform.
I can't get Freeview in my area,
will I be able to get freesat?
FREESATS’ incredible 98% coverage
means it’s almost certain you’ll
be able to receive the digital satellite
signal even if you live in an area where
you can’t receive Freeview’s
digital terrestrial signal.
I already have digital satellite
equipment - what else do I need?
All you need to get access to the free
channels available on the digital satellite
platform is a freesat viewing card which
costs just £20. (UK ONLY)
Can I Parental Lock channels?
Yes all channels can be locked using pin
number.
What's the difference between
Freeview and Freesat?
With freesat you receive the digital signal
via a satellite dish. With Freeview, the
digital signal is received via an aerial.
Freeview currently has coverage in around
73% of the country compared with freesat’s
coverage of 98%.* Freesat also has over
five times the number of channels available
on Freeview.
*If you live in a block of flats you may
have access to freesat via a communal
satellite dish or an Integrated Reception
System. Please check with your landlord,
managing agent or owner of the property
and call us for more information.
How much does it cost?
Freesat from Digi Repairs costs £170
(€250) one off payment for the satellite
system. This price includes delivery but
not installation. We may be able to recommend
somebody local. However we supply full
DIY installation instructions.
Can I link it to other TV’s?
Yes the digibox can be linked to other
TV’s and can be controlled by your
remote control using a device called a
“magic eye”.
Can I run a second digibox without
putting up another dish?
Yes you can run upto four digiboxes individually
of each other from the one dish. We supply
dual sytems for £270(€400)
that is an additional settop box and Quad
LNB.
I already have Sky Digital can
I add on Freesat to the existing system?
Yes. We can supply an upgrade package
which includes a Freesat setop box plus
Quad LNB. Cost is £150 (€220).
This means you don’t have put up
another dish but you will need to run
another cable from your dish to the Freesat
box..
